60th Anniversary Royal Gala Concert

In recognition of our Diamond Jubilee we are holding a Gala Concert and Dinner at St John’s, Smith Square, London on Tuesday, 9th September 2008 in the presence of Her Royal Highness the Duchess of Gloucester. We are delighted our Vice Presidents Dame Evelyn Glennie and Julian Lloyd Webber will be performing a rich selection of music, with Richard Stilgoe comparing the evening. Marsh & McLennan Companies are most generously sponsoring The City of London Sinfonia.

Money raised from the evening is essential to reach our audiences totalling more than 125,000 adults and children with all kinds of illness and disability. Whilst we are extremely excited at this prospect, we are also aware that this represents a huge challenge and a big commitment in terms of our limited resources and funds. Ironman UK 2008

Nick Smith (left) will be competing in the Ironman UK 2008 in aid of Music in Hospitals. The triathlon is a test of physical and mental endurance beginning with a 2.4 mile swim, followed by a 112 mile bike ride and finishing with a 26.2 mile run.
